# Wall Street CV

Turn anyone's work history into a one-page, banking-style CV (classic WSO template) where every bullet shows measurable impact. The flow has seven steps and always runs in this order. Never skip the impact interview or the truth check.

Talk to the person in their language (usually German). Write the CV itself in English unless they ask for German. Ask at most 3 to 5 questions per message so it stays a conversation, not a form. Never use em dashes.

## Step 1: Choose the starting point

Open by asking (AskUserQuestion if available):

> "Wie möchtest du starten? Du kannst deinen aktuellen CV hochladen, oder wir machen ein kurzes Interview über die Jobs und Stationen, die du bisher hattest."

Options: "CV hochladen" / "Interview führen".

## Step 2: Collect the raw material

**Path A, CV uploaded:** Read it (PDF, DOCX, image or text). Extract an inventory: contact details, education, each role (company, title, location, dates, existing bullets), leadership/activities, skills, certifications, languages, interests. Show a short summary of the stations you found and ask what is missing or outdated.

**Path B, interview:** Ask open questions to build the same inventory:
- "Erzähl mir von deinen Stationen, angefangen mit der aktuellsten: Wo, als was, von wann bis wann?"
- Education: school/university, degree, grade/GPA, honors, scholarships.
- Side activities: student jobs, clubs, volunteering, sports, own projects.
- Contact details: name, email, phone, city.

In both paths, also ask which kind of role they are aiming for (only roughly; the exact job ad comes in Step 7).

## Step 3: Impact interview, station by station

Go through every station one at a time, most recent first. Goal per station: 2 to 4 achievements, each with all three parts of the Google XYZ formula (Laszlo Bock):

**Accomplished [X] as measured by [Y], by doing [Z].**

- **X, the outcome:** What changed because they were there? Not the task, the result.
- **Y, the measure:** A number that proves it.
- **Z, the method:** What exactly did they do differently?

### Find the hidden metrics

Most people think their job "had no numbers". Almost every job does. Before asking, think about which metrics naturally exist in that role, then ask specifically whether they achieved something there, whether it was tracked, and whether it is verifiable. Examples:

| Job | Metrics to probe |
|---|---|
| Cashier / retail | Revenue per shift vs. other registers, items per hour, upsells, loyalty sign-ups, errors/cash differences, customers per day |
| Waiter / bar | Tips vs. colleagues, average check size, tables per shift, upselling (wine, desserts), regulars, reviews mentioning them |
| Sales | Quota attainment %, pipeline generated, deals closed, ACV, win rate, ranking in team, sales cycle length |
| Customer service | Tickets per day, CSAT/NPS, first-response time, escalation rate |
| Office / admin / ops | Time saved, processes built, error reduction, volume handled |
| Intern / analyst | Number of companies screened, models built, reports delivered, time saved for the team |
| Student / club / sports | Members grown, money raised, events organized, team size led, rankings |
| Teaching / tutoring | Number of students, grade improvement, pass rate |

For each station ask questions like:
Was war vorher, was nachher?"

### Make it logically defensible

Every number must be explainable in one sentence. When the person estimates:
- Help them reconstruct it step by step ("wie viele Tische pro Schicht, wie viele Schichten pro Woche, über wie viele Monate?").
- Prefer conservative, rounded numbers and comparisons ("top 3 of 12", "~20% above team average").
- Note for yourself where each number comes from (tracked vs. estimated) for the truth check.
- Never invent a number. If nothing measurable exists, write a strong qualitative bullet and say so.

## Step 4: Write the bullets

Show the rewritten content in chat, grouped by station, before building anything.

Bullet rules:
- Start with a strong action verb (Generated, Led, Built, Closed, Increased, Reduced, Trained, Analyzed). Past tense, present tense only for the current role.
- Keep the XYZ logic but write naturally and tight, ideally one line, max two.
- Example, waiter: "Generated ~25% higher average tips than team average over 18 months by upselling wine pairings and building a base of regular guests"
- Example, cashier: "Processed 30% more transactions per shift than store average by optimizing checkout flow, recognized as top cashier of 15 in Q3 2024"
- Strongest bullet first. 3 to 5 bullets for relevant stations, 1 to 2 for older or less relevant ones.
- No pronouns, no filler ("responsible for", "helped with", "various").

Let the person correct wording and numbers.

## Step 5: Truth check (always, before building)

Challenge the person directly before the CV is finalized:

> "Bevor ich den CV baue, eine ehrliche Frage: Hast du an irgendeiner Stelle übertrieben oder etwas geschönt? Ist jede Zahl und jede Aussage so, dass du sie sofort im Interview erklären kannst, und dass dein früherer Chef sie in einem Reference Call genau so bestätigen würde?"

Then go through the bullets where numbers were estimated and ask per bullet: "Wer könnte das bestätigen, und wie würdest du die Zahl im Interview herleiten?" Soften or remove anything the person cannot defend. Only continue once they confirm everything is true.

## Step 6: Build the CV and output as PDF

Replicate the classic Wall Street Oasis template exactly. One page, strictly. Cut older or less relevant content before going below 10pt.

**Typography and page**
- Font: Times New Roman throughout. Body 10.5 to 11pt, name ~18pt bold.
- Margins ~0.5 to 0.7 inch. Black text only. No colors, photos, icons, columns or visible tables.

**Header**
- Line 1: Full name, centered, bold, large.
- Line 2: centered, regular: `email | phone | City, Country/State`.

**Sections** (headers in bold caps with a thin full-width horizontal rule directly underneath):
1. EDUCATION (first for students and early career; otherwise put EXPERIENCE first)
2. EXPERIENCE
3. LEADERSHIP (clubs, volunteering, sports, own projects; drop if empty)
4. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

**Each entry, two-line header**
- Line 1: **Organization** bold, left. **City, Country** bold, right-aligned (right tab stop at the margin).
- Line 2: *Title* italic, left. *Mon YYYY - Mon YYYY* (or *Present*) italic, right-aligned.
- Below: round bullets, indented, no periods at bullet ends.

**Education entry**: University bold + location; degree italic + date ("Anticipated May 2027" if not finished); bullets for GPA/grade, honors, scholarships, relevant coursework.

**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**: bullets with an italic label followed by a colon: *Certifications:*, *Skills:*, *Languages:* (with level), *Interests:* (specific, e.g. "Marathon running (3:15 PB)" not "Sports").

**Build process**
1. Build the CV as a .docx (load the docx skill), using a right tab stop for locations and dates and paragraph bottom borders for the section rules.
2. Convert to PDF (e.g. LibreOffice headless).
3. Render the PDF page to an image and check visually: exactly one page, dates and locations aligned on the right edge, consistent spacing, no orphaned lines. Fix and re-check if anything is off.
4. Send the PDF to the person with one line of context.

## Step 7: Tailor to a job ad

After delivering the PDF, always ask:

> "Kannst du mir die Stellenausschreibung schicken, auf die du dich bewerben möchtest? Dann schauen wir, wie wir den CV gezielt darauf anpassen."

When the job ad arrives:
- Extract the key requirements, skills and keywords.
- Map each requirement to existing bullets; reorder stations and bullets so the most relevant come first.
- Mirror the ad's wording where it is truthful (helps with ATS screening).
- Identify gaps and ask the person whether they have experience that covers them (back to a mini impact interview if yes). Never add claims that were not confirmed in the truth check.
- Show the changes in chat, then output a new tailored PDF in the same format, named after the company (e.g. `CV_Name_Company.pdf`).
